About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will join a project team to assist with the execution of nuclear engineering work. You will work under the direction of senior engineers to support the design of new systems or the modification of existing power plant and industrial facility components.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Help track and evaluate project activities, progress, and data.
- Apply your academic background in mechanical engineering to project-specific tasks.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, General, or Systems Engineering.
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- Strong academic background in mechanical systems analysis.
- Coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or heat transfer.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An understanding of the practical application of mechanical engineering principles.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is a plus.
