About the role#
WSP is seeking a full-time Structural Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in our New York office and is part of our 12-week summer program. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects to build your technical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Support a variety of engineering tasks.
- Learn basic principles of structural engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
- Prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
- Adhere to company policies, including the Code of Conduct.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited undergraduate, masters, or PhD program in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- You must be 18 years or older.
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
- Demonstrated interest in structural engineering.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to take direction from leadership and mentors.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- A track record of upholding workplace safety.
- Preferred experience includes Microsoft Office and design software such as SAP2000, AutoCAD, REVIT, or MicroStation.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is a plus.

- Location: New York, New York.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12-week program).
- Compensation: $19 - $30 per hour.
