About the role#
The Scrum Master Intern role provides support to the Business Technology division to help meet daily objectives. This 10-week summer program offers exposure to the planning, execution, and evaluation stages of various projects within the insurance industry. You will work 38.75 hours per week in a hybrid environment.
What you'll do#
- Serve as a key member of the Agile intern team in the Scrum Master role.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Refinement, Reviews/Demos, and Retrospectives.
- Participate in Scaled Agile activities like PI Planning and cross-team coordination.
- Support the team by identifying and resolving impediments, managing dependencies, and maintaining a prioritized backlog with Product Owners.
- Coach team members on Agile principles, tools, and best practices.
- Use team metrics to identify improvement opportunities and guide performance.
- Assist with user story estimation and forecasting.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and risks to leadership.
- Support team use of Agile tools such as Azure DevOps and Microsoft 365.
- Meet weekly with the Internship Cohort, Executive Leadership, and division leaders.
- Present a capstone project summarizing your internship experience.
- Seek mentorship and participate in learning communities to grow your knowledge of Lean-Agile techniques.
What you'll need#
- Current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing in college.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, or related fields.
- A minimum 3.5 GPA.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Aptitude for learning Agile tools like ADO, VSTS, and Jira.
- Familiarity with Agile ceremonies and basic Agile metrics like velocity and delivery cadence.
- Ability to provide S.T.A.R. customer service.
- Passion for community impact.
