About the role#
WoodmenLife is seeking an Accounting Intern for the Summer 2027 program. This 10-week internship provides exposure to the planning, execution, and evaluation stages of various projects within the insurance industry. You will work 38.75 hours per week and receive mentorship to help prepare for a professional career.
What you'll do#
- Meet weekly with the Internship Cohort, Executive Leadership, and division leaders.
- Summarize and present a capstone presentation covering your project accomplishments and skill development.
- Gain an introduction to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
- Support Corporate Social Responsibility projects.
- Assist with financial statement and regulatory filing support, including the Annual Statement preparation process.
- Complete tax returns and gain exposure to unclaimed property and unemployment filings.
- Develop professional business communications through engagement with internal stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing in college.
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to provide S.T.A.R. customer service.
- Demonstrated accountability, innovation, and effective communication skills.
- A passion for learning, community impact, and professional development.
