About the role#
This is a full-time, paid summer internship for students pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. You will work on-site at our Columbia, South Carolina office for 12 weeks, from May 17 through August 6, 2027. This position offers an opportunity to gain practical experience and exposure to the insurance industry while working alongside professional teams.
What you'll do#
- Maintain departmental information, including documents, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Use internal systems and tools to conduct research and support ongoing projects.
- Follow standard operating procedures and participate in department training.
- Assist staff members with daily tasks to learn about business operations and workflows.
- Communicate with various departments across the company.
- Create and present reports on area statistics or knowledge acquired during the term.
- Participate in networking events, volunteer opportunities, and professional discussions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program with at least two years of academic study completed.
- Minimum of 12 semester hours earned in accounting or accounting and finance credits.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Analytical or critical thinking skills.
- Ability to follow directions and ask questions.
- Relevant skills or experience in accounting, business, or finance.
Location & details#
- Location: Columbia, South Carolina.
- Work Modality: On-site, 5 days per week.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
