About the role#
This is a full-time, paid summer internship based in Columbia, South Carolina. You will work on-site five days a week from May 17 to August 6, 2027. This program offers a chance to gain hands-on experience and insight into the healthcare insurance industry while working alongside professional teams.
What you'll do#
- Complete tasks to maintain departmental information, including documents, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Utilize systems and tools to conduct research and support ongoing projects.
- Follow established procedures and apply industry best practices.
- Participate in department training to build job-specific skills.
- Communicate with various areas of the company to understand business operations.
- Create and present reports on area statistics or knowledge acquired.
- Assist staff members with daily tasks.
- Engage in volunteering, networking events, and group discussions.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Planning and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong listening skills and a willingness to ask questions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Preference is given to students currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program who have earned at least 12 semester hours in their field of study and completed at least two years of academic study.
- All majors are welcome to apply, including Communications, Public Health, Business Administration, Human Resources, Data Science, and Marketing.
