About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will bridge the gap between your pharmacy school education and real-world clinical practice. Working under the guidance of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. This role involves gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations, patient care, and team leadership while contributing to the daily success of our pharmacy staff.
What you'll do#
- Complete a structured training roadmap including Key Learning Experiences and district-level activities.
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures for safe, accurate prescription fulfillment at all workstations.
- Provide patient care by offering to counsel, fielding medical questions under pharmacist supervision, and taking telephonic prescriptions.
- Deliver health services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, including obtaining Technician Immunizer status.
- Support team operations by providing in-the-moment coaching, mentoring, and completing basic inventory tasks like cycle counts and medication deliveries.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and safety.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or the process to obtain one started.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service environment.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market as needed.
