About the role#
Rockland Trust is seeking motivated students for a Commercial Banking Internship during the Summer 2027 term. This program provides hands-on experience in commercial lending, client relationship management, and financial analysis. You will work alongside experienced banking professionals to gain practical exposure to business operations and contribute to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist Relationship Managers with client portfolios, report preparation, and financial analysis.
- Support the loan application process, including underwriting documentation and client onboarding.
- Conduct research on industry trends, competitive activity, and specific client markets.
- Help maintain accurate client records and assist with reporting for internal meetings and executive presentations.
- Participate in data analysis projects to support business decisions.
- Attend team meetings and collaborate across departments on various initiatives.
- Engage in customer outreach to understand client needs and identify business opportunities.
- Partner with fellow interns on a collaborative project to solve a business challenge and present recommendations to leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a rising junior or senior at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuit of a degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and develop insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and business partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- A strong interest in commercial banking, financial services, and business operations.
- Previous internship or work experience in banking or finance is preferred.
- Familiarity with credit analysis or financial modeling is a plus.
