About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program at our home office in Omaha. You will support the Business Technology and Strategic Initiatives divisions while gaining experience in the insurance industry. The role is full-time, working 38.75 hours per week in a hybrid environment.
What you'll do#
- Join the Agile team to define and prioritize user stories in the backlog.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure backlog items align with business needs and strategic goals.
- Act as a liaison between the development team and business units to translate requirements into actionable stories.
- Break down larger epics into smaller, valuable stories using INVEST criteria.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Assist with administrative functions across the division.
- Meet weekly with the intern cohort, executive leadership, and division leaders.
- Prepare and present a capstone presentation covering your project accomplishments and key learnings.
What you'll need#
- Currently a sophomore, junior, or senior in college.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Commitment to providing S.T.A.R. customer service.
- A passion for community involvement.
