About the role#
WoodmenLife is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This program provides real-world experience through mentorship and hands-on contributions to our security operations. You will support the planning, design, and implementation of security controls while gaining exposure to our organization through interactions with leadership and your fellow interns.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of Information Security controls.
- Conduct security audits on systems and applications, partnering with engineers to validate remediation.
- Perform research and development on new security techniques with a focus on automation.
- Support the Third-Party Service Provider (TPSP) program by monitoring security profiles and assisting with risk assessments.
- Develop security solutions or process enhancements to address risk and improve efficiency.
- Shadow various office positions to train in different tasks.
- Meet weekly with the Internship Cohort and leadership to discuss project progress.
- Prepare and present a capstone presentation covering your accomplishments and key learnings.
- Participate in internal training opportunities to build your technical skills.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, or senior in a college degree program such as Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work 38.75 hours per week.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate effectively.
