About the role#
The Solutions Co-op role provides exposure to the investment process at Wellington Management. You will work with multi-asset and leadership teams to support tactical asset allocation, liability driven investing, and risk oversight. This position involves cross-training to ensure you gain experience across various investment functions.
What you'll do#
- Conduct investment research and portfolio analysis.
- Perform macro research and analysis.
- Assist with portfolio implementation, including model trading and KPI review.
- Measure and report on investment and operational risks.
- Support business management activities.
- Contribute to key projects related to tactical asset allocation and risk oversight.
What you'll need#
- You must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled at Northeastern University.
- Prior co-op experience is required.
- A strong academic track record with demonstrated quantitative and numerical analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Python, large database structures, Matlab, Visual Basic, or SQL.
- Exposure to investment tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet, DataStream, or Haver.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work both independently and within a team.
- A high level of attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Humility, natural curiosity, and a sense of humor.
