About the role#
Xcel Energy is seeking students to join the Supply Chain organization for a summer internship. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting a large utility supply chain through projects related to procurement, sourcing, contract administration, inventory management, and logistics. You will work alongside professionals and business stakeholders to ensure materials and services are available to support safe and reliable service for our customers.
What you'll do#
- Assist with purchasing, sourcing, contract, and supplier activities to support daily operations.
- Gather, organize, and review supply chain data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities.
- Create reports, presentations, dashboards, and status updates.
- Support inventory, materials, logistics, warehouse, fleet, or planning activities.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and system information.
- Contribute to projects, process improvements, technology updates, and change initiatives.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain team members, business partners, and suppliers.
What you'll need#
- Current student with Junior status or higher as of Fall 2027.
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Logistics, Operations Management, Procurement, Project Management, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Analytical curiosity and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Interest in procurement, sourcing, operations, and logistics within the energy sector.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications like Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience with tools such as Power BI, Power Platform, SQL, Python, SAP, or Coupa is a plus.
Location & details#
- Locations: Denver, CO; Minneapolis, MN; Henderson, CO; Amarillo, TX; Lubbock, TX.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid and on-site, requiring the ability to commute in-person.
- Schedule: Full-time during the summer with the possibility of part-time work during the school year.
- Compensation: $19.50 to $24.50 per hour.
