About the role#
Hawaiian Electric offers a project-based internship for students interested in operations and construction management. You will work with an assigned mentor to research and execute an objective-based project. This program provides professional experience and the chance to present your work to management at the end of the summer.
What you'll do#
- Perform tasks in departments including vegetation management, construction and inspection management, training, maintenance engineering, environmental engineering, or UAS/drone operations.
- Work closely with an individual mentor on assigned projects.
- Participate in cross-functional activities to learn about the company.
- Present your achievements and lessons learned to the management team at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at a post-secondary school with plans to attend in Fall 2027.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 and good academic standing.
- Major in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products.
- An official digital copy of your transcript.
- Change management or process improvement certifications are preferred.

- Location: Honolulu, Hawaii.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
