About the role#
Hawaiian Electric offers a project-based internship for students interested in records management. You will work with a dedicated mentor to research and execute an objective-based project. This role provides hands-on experience and the chance to present your work to our management team at the end of the summer. You will also participate in cross-functional activities to learn about the company.
What you'll do#
- Perform records digitization and manage metadata.
- Develop and implement file naming conventions.
- Conduct records research and data analysis.
- Collaborate with a mentor on specific project objectives.
- Engage in cross-functional activities and professional development workshops.
- Present project achievements and lessons learned to the management team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an active student at a post-secondary school.
- Good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Enrollment in school for the Fall 2027 term.
- A major in Library Science, Information Science, Data Analysis, Records Management, or a related field.
- An expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Submission of an official digital copy of your transcript.

- Location: Honolulu, Hawaii.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Starting at $21.00 per hour.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
