About the role#
Hawaiian Electric offers a summer internship program focused on providing students with hands-on experience in the utility industry. You will work on professional level projects and receive guidance from a dedicated mentor. This program includes cross-functional activities to help you learn about the company and connect with other interns.
What you'll do#
- Research and execute an objective-based project with your mentor.
- Participate in company activities, such as power plant tours and professional development workshops.
- Present your project deliverables in an open forum at the end of the summer.
- Share your achievements and lessons learned with management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at a post-secondary school.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Academic standing in good status.
- Enrollment in school for the Fall 2027 term.
- A major in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
Location & details#
- Location: Kahului, Maui.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- Modality: This is an on-site position.
- Compensation: $23.00 per hour.
