About the role#
Hawaiian Electric offers a project-based internship for students interested in T&D Engineering. You will work alongside a dedicated mentor to gain professional experience and develop technical skills. This is a paid, full-time opportunity designed to provide hands-on exposure to utility operations.
What you'll do#
- Research and execute an objective-based project with your mentor.
- Participate in cross-functional activities to learn about the company.
- Take part in professional development workshops.
- Present your project achievements and lessons learned to the management team at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an active student at a post-secondary institution.
- A degree focus in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Good academic standing.
- Enrollment in school for Fall 2027.
- An expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- An official digital copy of your transcript.

- Location: Maui, Hawaii.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Starting at $23.00 per hour.
