About the role#
This summer internship provides hands-on experience within the Electric Operations team at a major electric utility. You will work on projects that translate field performance data into insights regarding safety, reliability, budget, and customer satisfaction. The role involves managing reporting systems, identifying operational trends, and supporting the department through data-driven guidance.
What you'll do#
- Analyze field operations data to produce actionable insights.
- Manage reporting systems and various IT applications.
- Partner with IT, subject-matter experts, and cross-functional teams to refine business processes.
- Support storm response efforts and assist with emergency restoration assignments.
- Enhance training materials and procedural documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Computer Science, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil).
- Strong spreadsheet, statistical, and analytical skills with an eye for detail.
- Ability to build decision and analytical models using software tools.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to various audiences.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to act decisively based on data.
- Project coordination capabilities and the ability to manage shifting priorities.
