About the role#
The Business Intelligence Co-Op joins the Investment Platform Business Intelligence team. You will partner with investment and business leaders to develop data-driven insights and scalable analytical capabilities. This role provides exposure to the investment management business while working with a range of data, technologies, and stakeholders. You will report to the Director of Business Intelligence and Supervisory Practices and assist the COO team on various initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Support the Investment Platform Morning Meeting process, including logistics, material coordination, and capturing discussion points.
- Partner with team members and stakeholders on ad hoc and recurring data analysis.
- Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and analytical tools to help leaders identify trends.
- Support the development of scalable reporting and data products to replace manual processes.
- Streamline and automate internal processes to improve efficiency and data quality.
- Collect, validate, and organize data from multiple sources to maintain reliable datasets.
- Perform analyses related to investment performance, peer-relative insights, and management reporting.
- Translate business requirements into effective analytical solutions.
- Explore opportunities to use modern data and visualization tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Northeastern University.
- Prior co-op experience is required.
- Strong academic record with coursework in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience with Python, SQL, or similar analytical programming tools.
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A demonstrated interest in the investment management industry and emerging technologies.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player and an independent self-starter.
