About the role#
The Sophomore Internship Program is a 12-week experience for students who want to build technical skills and gain exposure to global payment technology. You will join a technology team to work on projects that support our core systems and digital infrastructure. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design, code, and test software solutions for routing digital currency transactions.
- Deploy Kafka clusters using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Develop a natural language chatbot for knowledge base searches.
- Prototype automated payment solutions for gas stations.
- Automate processes with low latency algorithms.
- Build visual monitoring tools to detect transactional issues.
- Create testing tools to identify system errors.
- Develop an app factory for mobile banking applications.
- Enhance the usability of Visa Checkout across different platforms.
- Support the full software development lifecycle while learning secure coding practices.
What you'll need#
- You are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, Business, or a related field.
- Your expected graduation date is between December 2028 and August 2029.
- Proficiency in at least one language such as Java, C/C++, C#.NET, Python, JavaScript, or HTML.
- Familiarity with software testing principles and experience with tools like Selenium, REST, Python, or Groovy.
- Strong understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies.
- Ability to document processes, perform analysis, and handle ambiguity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A collaborative, team-oriented, and resourceful mindset.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Foster City, California.
- The work modality is hybrid, with an expectation of at least 3 days in the office.
- This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
