About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will contribute to technical innovations in vascular positioning systems. You will work alongside our Software Development Engineering team to support both the sustainment of the current Rhythm DLX Navigation system and the development of our next-generation navigation platform. This role involves gaining hands-on experience with application and embedded software systems.
What you'll do#
- Support the design, development, and testing of software for connected medical device systems.
- Write, debug, and unit test software code in C++ or C#.
- Assist with software design control documentation, including requirements, traceability, risk mitigations, verification and validation protocols, and test reports.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and cross-functional design discussions.
- Investigate and troubleshoot software defects to identify root causes.
- Explore applications of AI/ML concepts and AI-based development tools.
- Document your work and present progress to the software team and stakeholders.
- Comply with the company code of ethics and quality system requirements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least one academic term remaining after the internship.
- Working knowledge of C++ or C#.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A genuine interest in medical device software.
- Preferred: Prior coursework, projects, or experience in software development, embedded systems, Linux-based development, AI/ML concepts, or Agile/Scrum methodology.
