About the role#
The Industrial Engineer Intern will support process analysis, data-driven problem solving, and layout optimization projects within the North American Distribution Center. This role provides exposure to applying industrial engineering principles in a high-volume distribution environment with a focus on efficiency, ergonomics, and continuous improvement. You will contribute to real improvement initiatives while gaining technical and analytical experience.
What you'll do#
- Collect, analyze, and interpret time study, labor usage, and workflow data.
- Assist in developing labor standards, productivity benchmarks, and capacity models.
- Support warehouse layout and material flow projects.
- Contribute to Kaizen and Lean projects to help reduce waste.
- Partner with supervisors and managers to trial and validate process changes.
- Present a final project on an assigned operational improvement opportunity.
What you'll need#
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in Lean, Six Sigma, and process optimization.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Exposure to AutoCAD, simulation tools, or WMS is preferred.
- Experience with data collection, process mapping, and workflow improvement in an operational setting.
- Participation in real-world Lean or Kaizen initiatives.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability.

- Hours: 30 hours per week.
- Pay: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour.
- Status: Paid internship.
