About the role#
The Software Engineer Intern will gain hands-on experience building software for AI-enabled legal and professional products. You will work with senior engineers to apply best practices in coding, testing, debugging, and the responsible use of AI development tools. You will contribute to product features, internal tools, APIs, services, and prototypes that support high-quality delivery.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineering, product, UX, and data science team members to design and develop software solutions.
- Develop well-structured code for web applications, APIs, services, product integrations, and internal engineering tools.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to prototype, document, test, and improve code, while validating all AI outputs through human review.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on readability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot software issues, write tests, improve observability, and resolve defects.
- Contribute to AI-enabled product capabilities, including workflow automation and reusable platform components.
- Document software designs, technical decisions, and development processes for global teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for computer science, engineering, or a related field, with a graduation date after June 2027.
- Programming fundamentals in Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, Git, testing practices, APIs, cloud concepts, and collaborative tools.
- AI fluency or curiosity, including awareness of generative AI, large language models, prompt patterns, and model limitations.
- Effective problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a detail-oriented approach.

- Term: Summer 2027 (11-12 weeks).
