About the role#
This is a 12-week internship program where you will join technology teams to work on projects that support our global payment systems. You will participate in the full software development lifecycle, contribute to ongoing technical initiatives, and present your project outcomes to leadership at the end of the program.
What you'll do#
- Deploy Kafka clusters using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Build a natural language chatbot for internal knowledge base searches.
- Prototype automated payment solutions for gas stations.
- Develop low latency algorithms to automate existing processes.
- Improve the usability of Visa Checkout across various platforms.
- Design and code software solutions for routing digital currency transactions.
- Create testing tools to identify system errors and visual monitoring tools for transaction tracking.
- Develop an app factory for mobile banking applications.
- Learn and apply secure coding practices throughout the software lifecycle.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, or Business.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, C/C++, C#.NET, Python, JavaScript, or HTML.
- Experience with automation and testing tools like Selenium, REST, or Groovy.
- Strong grasp of software engineering concepts, testing principles, and analytical problem-solving.
- Ability to document processes and manage ambiguous tasks effectively.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and a focus on achieving results.
Location & details#
- Location: Foster City, California.
- Modality: Hybrid (requires at least 3 days per week in the office).
- Employment: Full-time paid internship.
- Compensation: $46.00 to $55.00 per hour.
- Travel: 5-10% travel may be required.
