About the role#
Visa offers a 12-week internship program designed to provide hands-on experience within our global technology teams. You will work on projects that support our mission while building your professional skills through workshops and collaborative sessions. This role involves contributing to the full software lifecycle and learning secure coding practices in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Design, code, and test software solutions for routing digital currency transactions.
- Deploy Kafka clusters using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Develop a natural language chatbot for knowledge base searches.
- Prototype automated payment solutions for gas stations.
- Build visual monitoring tools to detect transactional issues and create testing tools to identify system errors.
- Automate processes using low latency algorithms.
- Enhance Visa Checkout usability across platforms.
- Develop an app factory for mobile banking applications.
- Use emerging technologies like Generative AI tools to support your daily work.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, or Business.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.
- Proficiency in one or more languages such as Java, C/C++, C#.NET, Python, JavaScript, or HTML.
- Experience with automation or testing tools like Selenium, REST, Python, or Groovy.
- Strong understanding of software engineering concepts and testing principles.
- Ability to document processes, perform analysis, and communicate clearly.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to handle ambiguity and solve problems.
Location & details#
- Location: Ashburn, Virginia.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in the office.
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
- Travel: 5-10% travel required.
