About the role#
As an Actuarial Analyst Intern, you will support Pricing, Modeling, Reserving, and Risk Assessment within the Life and P&C industry. This full-time summer internship provides hands-on experience through real business challenges, mentorship, and collaboration with your manager. Please note this role does not offer visa sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate, prepare, and perform actuarial analyses for new products, future projections, repricing, and financial strength assessments.
- Acquire and apply foundational knowledge of USAA business, products, and processes.
- Utilize actuarial modeling software for pricing, valuation, and risk management.
- Enter data and tables, run models, and generate reports under direct supervision while following risk and compliance procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or Finance.
- Expected graduation date between August 2027 and June 2029, and no earlier than August 13, 2027.
- Foundational knowledge of actuarial functions and business operations.
- Progress toward actuarial exams, with at least one exam in progress or completed.
- Experience communicating technical topics to a broad audience.
- Demonstrated leadership through employment, extracurriculars, or community service.
- Prior quantitative internship or related employment experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, VBA, SAS, R, or Python is preferred.
- Understanding of data analysis and actuarial techniques is preferred.
