About the role#
The Department of Religious Studies is hiring a student assistant to support communication and outreach efforts. This position is paid hourly and operates on an as needed basis. You will work primarily from Gibson Hall on the South Lawn.
What you'll do#
- Design promotional materials for the department website and other digital platforms.
- Create graphics to promote upcoming events.
- Assist with updating and maintaining digital and print publications.
- Help with website updates and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Federal Work-Study eligibility is required.
- You must be a second, third, or fourth-year undergraduate student enrolled full-time at UVA in good academic standing.
- A preference is given to Religious Studies majors.
- Strong written communication and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort with cropping and optimizing images for digital use.
- Basic understanding of website quality assurance.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- An interest in graphic design, marketing, communications, or digital media.
Location & details#
- Location: Charlottesville, Virginia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Pay rate: $16.50 per hour.
- This is a sedentary role involving extensive use of desktop computers with occasional travel required for meetings and programs.
