About the role#
The Campus Services Marketing team at the University of Cincinnati supports non-academic business units including Housing, Food Services, Campus Recreation, and UC Bookstores. As a Marketing & Design Co-op, you will assist in creating visual communications and collateral for these units. This role is on-site and provides experience in design processes, branding, and departmental production.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the marketing team to discuss design ideas, attend hand-off meetings, and develop print, social, and digital communications.
- Sketch thumbnails before moving to computer concepts.
- Design collateral material and print products for events.
- Create and maintain daily project logs to track ongoing work for various business units.
- Assist in identifying process improvements and updating onboarding manuals.
- Upload and manage photos, graphics, and other collateral.
- Photograph campus events, which may occasionally occur after hours or on weekends.
- Source stock photos, edit images, and archive photography.
- Create art for digital screens, motion graphics, and social media.
- Perform production duties as needed by the department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- Ability to meet enrollment requirements for the entire quarter.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility in accepting assignments and a willingness to take responsibility.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite to generate and edit finished products while following branding standards.
- A Pre-Junior standing in Communication Design is ideal.
- Experience with animation, video editing, photography, videography, Google Workspace, Excel, and Word is preferred.
- Submission of a cover letter, resume, and a portfolio link or PDF is required.
