About the role#
The Office of Undergraduate Admission (OUA) is hiring a Graduate Intern to help manage and improve the on-Grounds visit experience for prospective students and their families. This position provides insight into higher education administration while helping you build skills in leadership, organization, and public speaking. You will work with OUA staff, student interns, faculty, and alumni to ensure visitors have a welcoming experience.
What you'll do#
- Manage the OUA student intern team.
- Oversee daily tours and information sessions.
- Plan and execute open house programs.
- Coordinate group tours.
- Support the OUA Dean of the Day.
- Advise prospective students and applicants on the admission process.
- Work with High School Counselors and Community Based Organization leaders to create visit opportunities for students from underserved backgrounds.
- Coordinate large scale admitted student programs.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree.
- Current registration as a graduate student.
- Self-motivation and enthusiasm for recruitment efforts.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Openness to constructive feedback.
Location & details#
- Location: Charlottesville, Virginia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Generally Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., plus approximately 3 Saturdays per semester.
- Compensation: $16.00 per hour.
- Employment type: Part-time.
