About the role#
The Office of Water Programs at Sacramento State is hiring a graphic design student to join our team. You will assist with a wide range of projects, from initial concepts to final production. This is a part-time, on-site position that offers the chance to work alongside engineers and developers to turn technical concepts into clear visual communication.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers and project staff to create figures, infographics, and visualizations.
- Design schematics, charts, graphs, and other vector assets for reports and presentations.
- Develop multi-page layouts for newsletters, publications, and forms.
- Create visual identities and special marks for both internal and external clients.
- Capture photos and videos, and handle post-production or retouching as needed.
- Learn and apply front-end code to help develop user interfaces.
- Assist the team throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot design problems and adjust to changing priorities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Graphic Design or Design Studies program at an accredited college or university.
- A minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office applications.
- Experience working on the Windows platform.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to maintain a consistent weekly schedule.
- Clear communication skills for professional interaction via email and phone.
- Ability to organize your work and meet project deadlines.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $22.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Students generally work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during breaks.
