About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring nine student assistants to support the Disability and Survivor Benefits division at CalSTRS. You will help analyze and apply laws, policies, and procedures related to retirement, disability, and survivor benefits.
What you'll do#
- Review and verify documents for accuracy, completeness, and validity.
- Gather and analyze information to identify and locate the correct benefit recipients.
- Collect and compile data to determine the specific benefits payable.
- Communicate with clients to request necessary information and support timely case processing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student in Accounting, Business Administration, Communications, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least four-semester units or six quarter units.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with staff at various levels.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid position based in Sacramento, California.
- Work is part-time, with hours typically between 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Students may work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during breaks.
- You must reside and perform all work within California.
