About the role#
The Foundry, which serves as the hub for entrepreneurship and student Founder advising at the University of Virginia, is hiring Venture Support staff. This position is open to Federal Work-Study eligible students. You will support student Founders, connect them with resources, and assist with advising sessions to help them maintain momentum with their ventures.
What you'll do#
- Manage communication with student Founders and venture teams.
- Document programming, events, workshops, and speaker sessions.
- Connect students with necessary resources and maintain existing resource databases.
- Assist with the execution of events and workshops.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Represent The Foundry across campus.
What you'll need#
- Federal Work-Study eligibility.
- Strong interest in entrepreneurship and innovation.
- Prior experience in business, consulting, or related fields through coursework or employment.
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on new tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at the University of Virginia.
Location & details#
- Location: Charlottesville, Virginia.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 10 to 20 hours per week, primarily weekdays between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. with occasional evening or weekend events.
- Compensation: $17 per hour.
- Internship Requirement: Selected students must participate in the Internship Placement Program by enrolling in a one-credit course or completing an asynchronous co-curricular workshop series.
