About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring two student assistants to manage the collection and recycling of cardboard and other materials at the University Union and WELL facilities. This is a part-time, on-site role open to current Sacramento State students. Work schedules vary between Monday and Saturday.
What you'll do#
- Drive a golf cart and trailer to collect cardboard cages and recyclables around the Union and WELL buildings.
- Load cardboard into the bailing machine.
- Create, move, and stack bales.
- Maintain accurate logs for all bailing activity.
- Keep necessary supplies stocked for the bailing process.
What you'll need#
- A valid California Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance.
- Ability to operate machinery and lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Capacity to work outdoors in extreme heat or cold.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Enrollment as a student at Sacramento State, with a preference for majors in Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.
