About the role#
The Internal Audit (IA) team at The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) evaluates and contributes to the company's governance, risk management, and control processes. As an intern, you will join an independent function that uses a systematic, risk-based approach to conduct audit engagements and validation work across various business areas, including Finance, Compliance, and Operations.
What you'll do#
- Support the execution of audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases for assigned engagements.
- Review and document support provided by the business.
- Participate in internal and client meetings.
- Coordinate with supervisors to complete assigned tasks, including planning deliverables and control testing.
- Clearly and concisely document process walkthroughs, control design, and operating effectiveness procedures.
- Document findings or process enhancements resulting from your work.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising senior or second-year graduate student.
- Pursuit of a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and drive them to completion.
- Willingness to take on undefined tasks and propose solutions.
- General proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Location & details#
- This is a 12-week, full-time internship occurring in Summer 2027.
- The role is based in Chicago, Illinois.
- This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to work from the office at least 3 days per week, including Tuesday and Wednesday as anchor days.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
