About the role#
The Internal Audit team at The Options Clearing Corporation acts as an independent function responsible for evaluating governance, risk management, and control processes. As a summer intern, you will join this team to support audit engagements and validation work. You will work alongside engagement leads and supervisors to execute tasks throughout the planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases of active audits.
What you'll do#
- Support the execution of planning and fieldwork testing for audit engagements and validations.
- Review and document support provided by the business.
- Participate in internal and client meetings.
- Coordinate with supervisors on assigned engagements.
- Document process walkthroughs, control design, and operating effectiveness procedures.
- Document findings or enhancements resulting from procedures performed.
What you'll need#
- You must be a rising senior or a second-year graduate student.
- Expected graduation date must be December 2027, May 2028, or August 2028.
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and drive them to completion.
- Willingness to take on undefined tasks and propose solutions.
- General proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based in Chicago, Illinois.
- This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring presence in the office at least 3 days per week.
- Tuesday and Wednesday are designated as anchor days for in-person collaboration.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
