About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work alongside tax experts to help multi-state companies identify tax savings. The role involves hands-on training and mentorship as you support clients with state and local tax matters.
What you'll do#
- Identify tax savings opportunities for clients.
- Assist with state and local tax controversies, including preparing clients for auditor discussions.
- Represent clients at hearings and appeal meetings.
- Draft protests and technical memoranda regarding tax issues.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
- Review documentation and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Graduation date within one year of the internship.
- Minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
- Completion of 6 to 12 accounting hours, depending on the specific practice.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and work through ambiguity.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
