About the role#
This internship supports the internal audit team in evaluating the effectiveness of control structures across GM Financial. You will assist in assessing risks, identifying compliance issues, and providing recommendations to improve operational processes. The role involves working on independent and team-based audits to ensure business objectives are met while maintaining company standards.
What you'll do#
- Execute audits including design flows, risk assessments, and the preparation of workpapers.
- Identify control weaknesses, regulatory compliance issues, and potential areas of risk.
- Complete assigned audit tasks efficiently and within established timelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and follow all company policies.
What you'll need#
- Current student pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- At least one semester remaining in your degree program at the start of the internship.
- Minimum 3.0 overall GPA, with Junior or Senior classification preferred.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to business leaders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks independently or in a team.
- Proficiency with AI tools like Microsoft Copilot, including the ability to evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, bias, and compliance.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted research, content generation, and responsible AI use.

- Location: Fort Worth, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 26, 2027, to August 6, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid (2 days a week in office).
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
