About the role#
The Tax Accounting Co-Op/Intern will work with team members across the tax department to gain experience in tax and transformation projects. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term, running from May 10, 2027, to August 20, 2027. You will receive ongoing feedback on your performance while working with a global leader in the mining industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and international income tax returns and supporting workpapers.
- Support quarterly tax provision calculations, including book-to-tax differences under ASC 740.
- Prepare and analyze tax data to support compliance and financial reporting.
- Assist with responses to tax notices and audit information requests.
- Utilize digital tools to improve data accuracy, consistency, and reporting efficiency.
- Participate in department meetings and project-specific assignments.
- Communicate with personnel across the organization, including management, engineers, and contractors.
What you'll need#
- Junior level or above by May 2027, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or IT.
- Minimum 2.75 GPA.
- Foundational knowledge of taxation and accounting principles.
- Experience or familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, and reporting tools is preferred.
- Ability to work full-time (36-40 hours per week) while maintaining student status.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, climb stairs, and work at various heights.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.

- Location: Plymouth, Minnesota.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- This position requires the successful completion of a post-offer drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, and functional capacity examination.
