About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Mining Engineer or Geoscience Co-Op/Intern position for Summer 2027. You will be based at the Mosaic Potash Esterhazy K3 underground mine. The role focuses on assisting with special project design, execution, and management to improve facility efficiency and product quality. You will work 36-40 hours per week in an on-site capacity.
What you'll do#
- Shadow experienced professionals to develop job knowledge and provide input on current practices.
- Travel underground to perform inspections and collect data.
- Assist the department with Mine Ventilation or Mine Planning duties.
- Evaluate and formulate solutions for projects aimed at improving mining processes under the guidance of senior team members.
- Support geophysical surveys by preparing equipment and collecting data using both traditional and innovative techniques.
- Participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collect, organize, and interpret geological and operational data.
- Communicate with personnel across the organization, including management, engineers, tradespersons, and contractors.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mining or Geological Engineering, Geoscience, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Physics.
- Must be in at least your third year of study by May 2027 with a GPA of 72% or higher.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Ability to work in industrial, outdoor, and underground settings, including exposure to varying temperatures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, climbing stairs, and wearing a respirator.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including 12-hour shifts and overtime as required.
- 1-2 years of experience volunteering or working with student organizations and previous internship or co-op experience are preferred.

- Location: Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, Canada.
- Term: Beginning May 10, 2027, for up to 16 months.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Requirements: Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada and successfully complete post-offer screenings, including drug and alcohol testing, a background check, and a functional capacity examination.
