About the role#
The Applied Process Technology (APT) Engineer Co-Op supports the innovation portfolio across global operations. This role involves engineering support for new product development, pilot plant design, and chemical processing. You will work on-site at the FishHawk location in Lithia, Florida, with occasional travel to other Florida sites as required.
What you'll do#
- Lead innovative engineering projects and improvement activities across mining and concentrate processes.
- Conduct feasibility studies on new technologies to improve mining, processing, and product development.
- Participate in and direct research activities within laboratory and full-scale industrial environments.
- Engage and communicate with diverse personnel, including plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and management.
- Attend department and project-specific meetings to share learnings and build collaborative networks.
What you'll need#
- Junior status or above by January or May 2027, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Mining, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum 2.75 GPA.
- Ability to work full time (36-40 hours per week).
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment, which includes occasional outdoor work with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 pounds, climbing stairs, and wearing a respirator.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.

- Location: Lithia, Florida (FishHawk site).
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 11, 2027, to April 23, 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
