About the role#
This internship focuses on the optimization project at the St-Patrick plant in Montreal. You will work with the engineering team on the installation of industrial equipment, including furnaces, wire drawing machines, descalers, and overhead cranes. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Support the engineering team with mechanical project tasks.
- Monitor the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Analyze and solve technical problems as they arise.
- Develop mechanical solutions for site challenges.
- Coordinate work with electrical, operations, and maintenance teams.
- Design, modify, and improve industrial equipment.
- Conduct site surveys and track work progress.
- Attend weekly project meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program for Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Ability to interpret and extract data from technical drawings.
- Strong teamwork, autonomy, and rigor.
- Proficiency in English to communicate with clients outside Quebec.
- Commitment to health and safety practices.
- Knowledge of SAP, Inventor, and AutoCAD is an asset.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial equipment is an asset.
- Interest in an 8-month internship.
