About the role#
The Asset Evaluations Co-op role supports the integration of technical and financial perspectives into long-term strategic plans. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to understand how technical and financial analyses are combined to support investment decisions across a diversified mining portfolio. This position provides exposure to strategic planning, asset valuation, capital allocation, long-term mine planning, and executive decision-making processes.
What you'll do#
- Act as a courageous safety leader and follow all safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Support the development and maintenance of long-term cost and financial models for operations and projects.
- Collect, clean, validate, and analyze data, including historical and planned performance and cost data.
- Provide general support to the Manager of Asset Evaluations, including the development of summary materials for senior leaders.
- Offer assistance to the wider Technical and Planning team across various sub-disciplines, including mine engineering, mineral processing, decarbonization, and innovation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree in Engineering, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or Geoscience.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data sets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- A motivated self-starter mindset with the ability to coordinate several tasks or projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of integrity.
- Exposure to financial modeling concepts, such as discounted cash flow analysis, NPV, IRR, and investment evaluation methodologies, is considered an asset.
- Exposure to probabilistic modeling concepts is an asset.
- Spanish language skills are an asset.

- Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 (8 months).
- Start Date: January 4, 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Status: Full-time.
- Compensation: CAD $4,108 - $6,125 per month.
- Requirements: You must be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution for the full duration of the term and plan to return to studies for at least one academic term afterward. If you are not currently located in Vancouver, you must be willing to commute or relocate. A valid study permit and studentship letter will be required where applicable.
