About the role#
We are looking for a student to join our team to help automate a measurement bench for specialized optical fibers. You will focus on characterizing fiber attenuation based on bending losses. This internship is an opportunity to apply your instrumentation skills while learning about specialized optical fibers and improving system repeatability and precision.
What you'll do#
- Learn the principles of light propagation in optical fibers and standard characterization methods.
- Help build an experimental setup to measure optical losses based on fiber curvature.
- Create control and data acquisition tools to automate measurement processes.
- Run experimental tests on various optical fibers.
- Analyze data and contribute to validating system performance.
What you'll need#
- You are currently a student finishing a DEC in Physical Technology.
- You have a strong interest in instrumentation, automation, and laboratory experimental work.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in Ville de Québec, Quebec.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- The term is rolling.
