About the role#
The Access Governance & Oversharing Co-op supports the security and governance of Microsoft 365 collaboration environments, including SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive. You will work alongside Data Protection Operations and IT platform teams to identify oversharing risks, coordinate access reviews, and strengthen security controls. This role offers hands-on experience in information governance and data protection while helping improve operational efficiency through better tracking and reporting.
What you'll do#
- Act as a safety leader by adhering to and sponsoring all safety and environmental rules.
- Support SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive access reviews by tracking completion and compiling results.
- Identify and report on oversharing risks and workspace governance issues.
- Maintain governance records, exception logs, action trackers, and evidence repositories.
- Prepare dashboards, metrics, and reporting packages for operational meetings and governance reviews.
- Assist with control reviews, evidence collection, and remediation tracking.
- Document procedures, job aids, and process improvements to support operational maturity.
- Research Microsoft 365 governance guidelines and emerging access management trends.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Management Information Systems. Graduate students in Information Management or Records Management are also encouraged to apply.
- Enrollment in a Canadian post-secondary institution for the entire term, with plans to return to studies for at least one academic term afterward.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to develop new processes.
- High attention to detail and ability to organize information to identify risks.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and SharePoint.
- Commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace.
- Experience with SharePoint, OneDrive, process documentation, training, or Spanish language skills are considered assets.
Location & details#
- Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
- Term: 8 months, starting January 4, 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: CAD $4,108 - $5,183 per month, based on experience and competencies.
