About the role#
Teck Alaska Incorporated is hiring a Contracts Shareholder Intern at the Red Dog Operations site. This position provides exposure to commercial operations and contract management within a large-scale mining environment. You will report to the Contracts Lead and work on tasks ranging from administrative support to process improvement projects. You are expected to uphold Health, Safety, Environment, and Community standards and follow the company Code of Ethics.
What you'll do#
- Organize and maintain contract records, files, and documentation.
- Track contract milestones, renewals, and expiration dates.
- Assist with data collection, reporting, and analysis for procurement activities.
- Support competitive sourcing by helping prepare bid documents and coordinating administrative tasks.
- Research suppliers, markets, and industry trends to support sourcing initiatives.
- Update contract templates, procedures, and process documentation.
- Participate in workflow mapping and process improvement projects.
- Attend stakeholder meetings to observe operational and commercial decision-making.
- Prepare presentations, project materials, and reports.
- Complete a special project focused on improving a procurement or business process and present your findings to leadership.
What you'll need#
- You must be a NANA Regional Corporation Shareholder.
- Current college student or recent graduate in Business, Supply Chain Management, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- Interest in contracts, procurement, supply chain, or commercial operations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A demonstrated willingness to learn and take initiative.
Location & details#
- Location: Red Dog, Alaska.
- Schedule: This is a temporary, full-time, on-site position.
- Travel: The role follows a four-weeks on, two-weeks off rotational schedule. Paid fly-in, fly-out travel is provided.
