About the role#
This 8-month co-op position supports the Telemetry and Haulage team in sustaining digital mining technology. You will work with autonomous and tele-remote equipment, rugged mobile computers, and asset health systems that optimize fleet efficiency through real-time monitoring. You will engage with software, hardware, and service suppliers to develop and maintain these systems, which are critical to the safety, productivity, and sustainability of mining operations.
What you'll do#
- Act as a safety leader by following and sponsoring environmental and safety policies.
- Assist in the design, implementation, and deployment of sensor and edge computing projects.
- Collect, transmit, and visualize data from heavy equipment sensors and onboard computers.
- Support predictive maintenance innovation using AI, data analytics, Cloud, and IoT technologies.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve technical problems.
- Develop and maintain documentation and standards.
- Support cyber-security improvements, forensic tasks, and incident response.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Canadian post-secondary institution in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, with plans to return to studies for at least one term after this co-op.
- Knowledge of General Computer Controls (GCC) regarding information security, change management, network, electronics, and system databases.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, virtualization, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals (including wireless, firewalls, and protocols).
- Experience with technical writing and documentation.
- Ability to use tools like Power BI or Tableau to generate performance metrics.
- Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and in a distributed team.

- Duration: 8 months, starting January 4, 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $4,108 - $5,183 per month.
