About the role#
This internship offers a mechanical or process engineering student the chance to work on the industrialization of unique electrode production equipment. You will assist in the transition from research and development to high-volume production. Working alongside experienced engineers in Montreal, you will contribute to technical analysis, documentation, and field activities including equipment commissioning. This role involves travel to production sites to observe operations, understand industrial risks, and develop solutions for equipment reliability.
What you'll do#
- Take a proactive role in health, safety, and environmental management.
- Participate in risk analysis activities before field visits.
- Identify and document issues observed during fieldwork.
- Recommend improvements to address identified operational issues.
- Lead technical documentation efforts, including creating specifications and analyzing equipment or material data.
- Prepare and manage project mandates.
- Develop, execute, and analyze test protocols.
- Analyze operation times and provide technical support during equipment commissioning.
- Support project execution phases with technical input.
- Apply problem-solving methodologies and project management tools.
What you'll need#
- Currently completing a final-year undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with technical writing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage projects effectively.
Location & details#
- Location: Montreal, Quebec.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid, with a minimum of 4 days per week in the office.
- Travel: This role includes 2 to 3 missions to sites in the Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean region and the United States.
