About the role#
The Structural Engineer Co-Op or Intern will support site operations through a mix of fieldwork and office-based project coordination. You will gain hands-on experience in structural inspection, analysis, and maintenance planning. This role involves working closely with operations and construction teams to ensure site integrity and reliability. The position is based at the FishHawk site in Lithia, Florida, with regular travel to other locations.
What you'll do#
- Support on-site structural inspections, assessments, and analysis to identify maintenance needs.
- Assist in developing practical solutions to support site integrity.
- Review inspection reports and prepare technical documentation and drawings.
- Maintain and update structural databases and tracking tools.
- Coordinate with operations teams and construction crews to support project execution.
- Participate in asset walkdowns and audit Walking Working Surfaces inspections.
- Communicate with management, plant operators, engineers, and contractors.
What you'll need#
- Sophomore level or above by May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2.75 GPA.
- TWIC Card or the ability to obtain one.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work in an industrial chemical and mining environment, including occasional outdoor work in varying temperatures.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, climb stairs, and work at various heights.
- Ability to wear a respirator and meet physical requirements for the role.

- Location: Lithia, Florida.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 10, 2027 to August 20, 2027).
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, typically 36-40 hours per week.
