About the role#
The Capital Project Engineering Co-op/Intern role supports project execution and planning processes at the Belle Plaine potash solution mine and refinery. This position offers exposure to multiple engineering disciplines and provides the opportunity to work with professionals on active project portfolios. This is a full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Execute capital projects within a junior engineering scope, including scoping, triage, design, and construction.
- Participate in procurement activities such as bid preparation, solicitation, and vendor selection.
- Assist with scoping and planning future capital projects to support budget development and five-year planning.
- Support the active project portfolio by helping project engineers with execution demands, project handovers, and closeout activities.
- Gain exposure to various functions including capital projects, process engineering, maintenance, research and development, and production.
- Communicate with diverse personnel, including management, plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and contractors.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Industrial Systems, Mechanical, Mining, or Process Engineering.
- Completion of at least the third year of study by January 2027 with a minimum grade average of 72%.
- Ability to work full-time while maintaining student standing.
- Basic computer skills and experience working in a team environment.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment, including the capacity to work in varying temperatures and perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and lifting up to 25 lbs.

- Location: Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan, Canada.
- Term: January 11, 2027, to December 17, 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (36-40 hours per week).
- Requirements: Selected candidates must complete a pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, and functional capacity examination.
