About the role#
The Capital Project Engineering Co-op/Intern will support project execution and planning processes at the Belle Plaine potash mine and refinery. This role provides exposure to multiple engineering disciplines, including capital projects, process engineering, maintenance, research and development, and production. This is a full-time, on-site position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Execute capital projects within a junior engineering scope, ranging from initial scoping to design and construction.
- Participate in procurement activities such as bid preparation and vendor selection.
- Assist with scoping and planning future capital projects to support five-year planning efforts.
- Support the active project portfolio by helping project engineers with execution demands, project handovers, and closeout activities.
- Communicate with various personnel across the organization, including plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and management.
- Participate in department and project-specific meetings.
What you'll need#
- Third-year or above status by January 2027 in a bachelor's program for Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Industrial Systems, Mechanical, Mining, or Process Engineering.
- Minimum academic standing of 72% or higher.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Basic computer skills and experience working in a team environment.
- Ability to work in an industrial chemical and mining environment, including occasional work in the refinery with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs, working at heights, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Candidates must successfully complete a pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, and physical examination.

- Location: Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan, Canada.
- Term: January 11, 2027, to December 17, 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 36 to 40 hours per week, 9/80 schedule.
