About the role#
The Maintenance Engineer Co-Op or Intern will support operations and maintenance teams at our potash mine in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. You will assist engineers with major projects and take on your own assignments to improve equipment reliability and performance. This is a full-time, on-site position for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability.
- Lead and implement safety improvement projects.
- Provide technical support during equipment inspections and mechanical failures.
- Assist in completing the management of change process for various projects.
- Communicate with diverse personnel, including management, operators, engineers, tradespeople, and contractors.
- Review technical drawings and conduct field tours.
- Define project scopes and help design or modify existing equipment and piping.
What you'll need#
- Junior level standing or above by May 2027.
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial Systems, Mechanical, Mining, Process, or Environmental Systems Engineering.
- A GPA of 72% or higher.
- 1-2 years of experience volunteering or working with student and school organizations.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work in an industrial mining environment, including occasional outdoor work with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, climb stairs, and work at heights.
- Basic computer skills and experience working in a team environment.
