About the role#
The Maintenance Engineer Co-Op/Intern will join the Mosaic Potash Esterhazy team to support operations and maintenance projects. This role involves assisting engineers with equipment performance improvements and providing technical support to maintenance personnel. You will work on-site at the potash mine, contributing to projects that impact the efficiency and reliability of our underground mining operations.
What you'll do#
- Support operations and maintenance to improve equipment reliability through technical drawing reviews, field tours, and support during mechanical failures.
- Lead and implement safety improvement projects.
- Assist in completing the management of change process for various projects.
- Provide technical support for equipment inspections and obtain equipment specifications through drawings and manuals.
- Define project scopes, update technical drawings, and design or validate equipment and piping modifications.
- Communicate with diverse personnel, including management, plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and contractors.
- Participate in department and project-specific meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's program for Industrial Systems, Mechanical, Mining, Process, or Environmental Systems Engineering.
- Junior level standing or above by May 2027.
- A GPA of 72% or higher.
- 1-2 years of experience volunteering or working with student and school organizations.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work in an industrial chemical and mining environment, including occasional outdoor work with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, climbing stairs, and working at heights.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, 12-hour shifts, and overtime as required.
- Basic computer skills and experience working in a team environment.

- Location: Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, Canada.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 10 to December 18, 2027).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
- Requirements: Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada and successfully complete pre-placement screenings, including drug and alcohol testing and a background check.
