About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Process Control Engineer Co-Op/Intern position for the Winter 2027 term. Based at the K1 or K2 milling sites in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, this role provides hands-on experience in engineering applications within an industrial mining environment. You will work 36 to 40 hours per week and have the opportunity to learn from industry professionals while contributing to real-world process optimization projects.
What you'll do#
- Support process control and process engineering improvement projects to reduce operational variability.
- Learn process control fundamentals and assist site subject matter experts.
- Contribute to ongoing site initiatives and circuit optimization efforts, including field checks and performance monitoring.
- Develop and implement online production monitoring dashboards using PI visualization tools.
- Participate in site safety initiatives, including near-miss reporting and risk reduction projects.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering teams, plant operators, and tradespersons.
- Conduct data analysis, report writing, and database maintenance.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor program for Chemical, Industrial Systems, Mechanical, or Process Engineering, with third-year standing or higher by January 2027.
- Ability to function effectively in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Basic computer skills and an eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 25 lbs, working at heights, and wearing a respirator.
- Successful completion of pre-placement screenings, including drug and alcohol testing, a background check, and a physical/functional capacity examination.
