About the role#
The Process Control Engineer Co-Op/Intern role provides hands-on experience in engineering applications within an industrial mining setting. Based at the K1 or K2 milling sites in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, you will support process control and engineering improvement projects, learn fundamental control concepts, and contribute to ongoing site initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Support process control and process engineering improvement projects to reduce operational variability.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to identify improvement areas and propose solutions.
- Assist with circuit optimization efforts, including field checks, KPI tracking, and performance monitoring.
- Participate in site safety initiatives, such as behavior-based safety programs, near-miss reporting, and risk reduction projects.
- Develop and implement online production monitoring dashboards using PI visualization tools.
- Communicate with diverse personnel, including plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and contractors.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Industrial Systems, Mechanical, or Process Engineering, having reached third-year standing or above by January 2027.
- Ability to function effectively in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasionally working outdoors, climbing stairs, working at heights, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to wear a respirator and pass required pre-placement screenings, including drug and alcohol tests, background checks, and physical examinations.
- Effective verbal communication skills and experience working in a team environment.

- Term: Winter 2027, starting January 10, 2027, for up to 12 months.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (typically 36-40 hours per week).
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
